San Francisco’s affordable housing resource

Home SF is a citywide collaboration of experienced, nonprofit housing agencies that serves as a centralized hub for local affordable housing resources. We connect renters, homebuyers and homeowners with education, counseling and resources.

Home SF was founded in 2009 and is currently comprised of five local nonprofit housing organizations:

Our Mission

Home SF is a coalition of experienced, nonprofit housing agencies advancing housing equity and asset building opportunities for low-to-moderate income renters, homebuyers and homeowners. We serve as a centralized resource hub, connecting underserved communities with financial education, housing services, and affordable housing opportunities in San Francisco.

Our Vision & Values

Home SF envisions a San Francisco Bay Area where residents can easily access safe, stable, and affordable housing. We envision a San Francisco where people with modest means can live a good quality of life, where diverse communities can thrive, and where populations historically excluded from homeownership have the resources and support to build intergenerational wealth.

HSF believes in equitable and fair access to housing, empowering communities to overcome the intergenerational impact of housing disparities and discrimination.

HSF connects underserved communities (including those experiencing homelessness, persons with disabilities, seniors, immigrants, and other persons experiencing systemic barriers), with local housing assistance programs, city resources and nonprofit services, cultivating pathways to stable, affordable, high-quality housing.

HSF and our member agencies provide individualized, results-oriented client support, and group education compliant with HUD statutory requirements and National Industry Standards for housing counseling and education. We monitor programs to insure quality of service, and coordinate to develop best practices and better serve our communities.

HSF coordinates services and regularly convenes our network of housing service providers to promote peer-learning, implement program changes and respond collectively to emerging issues.

HSF acts as a centralized, “one stop” resource, providing publicly accessible, culturally relevant housing information, workshop schedules and service connections. HSF also develops training opportunities for member agency program staff to increase their skills and the agency’s capacity to provide housing and financial services.
